Charlotte Ngo-Suet Mui is a London-based artist whose practice in watercolour explores the shifting boundaries between memory, dreams and external reality. Her work draws from personal experience as well as broader cultural references — ranging from mythology and art history to theatre, popular culture and domestic life. Through painting, writing, and librarianship, Mui engages with the discipline of art and her enduring interests in mysticism and divination.
Mui holds a BA in English Literature and Art History from the University of Hong Kong (2018). She has been painting since her childhood and has received numerous local and international awards. In 2021, she created her own Tarot deck L’Œil de L’Âme, which she uses in her personal divination practice. The deck was recently acquired by the Tate Library, London.
From 2018 to 2023, Mui worked as a Collections Assistant at Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong. In 2022, she was selected for the HKwalls Mentorship Programme, where she completed a public mural displayed along the Hong Kong Harbour waterfront.
She held her debut solo exhibition Have A Rice Day at Alisan Fine Arts, Hong Kong (2022), and has participated in several group shows including Chinese Surrealism (2021), Beyond Tradition: The Metamorphosis of Chinese Art at Cromwell Place, London (2023), and ART SG in Singapore (2024).
Mui relocated to London in 2023 and currently works as Assistant Librarian and Communications Coordinator at iniva (Institute of International Visual Arts).
